What is Gold-Plated Jewellery?

Gold-plated jewellery is made by applying a thin layer of real gold over a base metal (in our case, premium stainless steel) via electroplating. This gives the appearance and feel of gold a more accessible price point, without the full content of solid gold.

Why it Matters

The thickness of the gold layer (in microns) determines durability and lifespan.
Solid gold is a pure alloy; gold-plated pieces have a base metal coated with gold.
Solid gold resists tarnish while gold-plated offers affordable luxury.
